MOSCOW, Russia, 26 June 2025 – Prior to departing for a working visit to St. Petersburg, Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Dato’ Sri Fadillah Yusof, and his delegation toured the ATOM Pavilion at VDNKh in Moscow, a state-of-the-art nuclear science exhibition centre.
Warmly welcomed by Elena Mironenko, Managing Director of the ATOM Foundation for Scientific, Educational, and Communication Initiatives, and Aptekarev Vladimir, Deputy Managing Director for Shipbuilding, Floating Energy, and Marine Engineering at Rosatom Mechanical Engineering, Fadillah described the pavilion as a remarkable blend of advanced technology, history, and knowledge.

Rebuilt on the site of a former Soviet-era structure, the ATOM Pavilion is Russia’s largest nuclear science education complex, spanning over 25,000 square metres across seven floors, featuring more than 1,700 interactive exhibits.
During the visit, Fadillah gained insights into the evolution of nuclear technology, from the development of the Soviet atomic bomb to milestones like the nuclear-powered icebreaker Lenin and modern VVER-1000 reactors. The pavilion’s immersive and interactive displays made the learning experience engaging and accessible.
Highlights included the Atomarium, an interactive experimental zone for exploring nuclear physics in a creative and engaging way, and a rooftop observation deck offering stunning views of the VDNKh surroundings.
Architecturally striking, the pavilion boasts a futuristic design with a ‘floating’ glass façade and advanced engineering systems, symbolising the fusion of technology and modern aesthetics.
“This visit has strengthened my belief that technology, when guided by knowledge, values, and responsibility, can drive a sustainable, innovative, and competitive future,” Fadillah said.
