KUALA LUMPUR, May 25, 2025 — Newly elected Deputy President of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Nurul Izzah Anwar, expressed gratitude to party members for their trust following her victory, emphasizing that the win marks a call to action rather than celebration. Quoting Surah Al-Baqarah: 216, she underscored the weight of responsibility each vote carries, pledging to work tirelessly to fulfill the mandate.

“This is not a time to rejoice but to double our efforts, roll up our sleeves, and face the real challenges ahead,” Nurul Izzah said, addressing party members. She highlighted the critical role of the deputy presidency in strengthening PKR’s internal governance, enabling party President and national leader to focus on steering Malaysia through global challenges, including the US-China trade war.
Nurul Izzah outlined her first initiative: a universal program for all PKR branches aimed at empowering grassroots machinery. The program will focus on boosting supporter numbers, engaging communities effectively, and equipping local leaders with resources, knowledge, and motivation to tackle upcoming political battles.
“We will mend what is broken and bridge what is distant,” she said, vowing to unite the party and drive meaningful reforms for the people.
Acknowledging both her supporters and those who backed her opponent, Rafizi,
Nurul Izzah called for unity to ensure PKR’s warriors—from grassroots to leadership—are fully equipped for the challenges ahead.
“Together, we can deliver true reform from the heart, for the rakyat,” she said, reaffirming her commitment to Malaysia’s vision of progress.
